victorianinsanity asked: How do you feel about putting your writing on the internet? I want to share things like short stories and poems, and I have, but now it's getting heavy. I have two novels and collections I'm diligently working on and I've been warned to not put anything out there, even if it is "copywritten"by the site itself. What is your input? Thanks a lot.

It’s important to understand that if you put something on the Internet you give it away. I’m happy to do that and I do it often. With all the different ways to spend time available to us, I’m very grateful whenever someone wants to seek me out.

The fact that I’m still posting poems and short writing on here means I’m still brave enough to put myself out there. It means I haven’t become afraid yet. It means I haven’t quit yet.

No, don’t put anything on the Internet if you want to control it. Do it if you want to be read, if you want people to find you. But don’t do it if you want to make money.
